The work of our predecessors and ours brought the Museum numerous awards and distinctions over the years. They are important to us because they prove that our actions are supported, among others, by the whole museologists community.

2020

• A Grand Prix in the category of "Exhibition activity", in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2019", for the exhibition "Musical culture in the beginnings of the Polish state".
• A distinction in the "Educational, promotional and marketing activity" category, in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2020", for the Museum profile on the Facebook social network.
• A spot on the list "The most extraordinary museums in Poland", as the most remarkable museum in Greater Poland, compiled by Histmag.org website and its users, for unique tourist attractions and a rich and diverse collection of finds.

2019

• A Grand Prix in the category "Conservation, protection of cultural heritage, investments" in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2018", for the comprehensive investment "Protection of cultural heritage at the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State in Gniezno - 2nd stage".
• 3rd place in the "Educational, promotional and marketing activity" category, in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2018", for the events "Freedom Railways 1918-2018".
• "Tourist product of the year 2019", an award granted by the editors of Forum Biznesu magazine, for contributions to the development of tourism in Greater Poland and the popularization of knowledge about the early Middle Ages in Poland.

2018

• 1st prize in the category "Educational, promotional and marketing activities", in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2017", for the mobile exhibition "Legend of st. Adalbert from the Gniezno door".
• A nomination in the "Historical and Archaeological Exhibitions" category in "37th Competition for the Museum Event of the Year. Sybilla 2017 ", for the exhibition "Vikings in Poland? Scandinavian finds from Polish lands".
• Coronation Medal, a distinction awarded by the Gniezno City Council to the Deputy Director of the Museum, Tomasz Sawicki, for the overall educational and research activity related to the history of the city of Gniezno and the beginnings of the Polish state.
• Coronation Medal, a distinction awarded by the Gniezno City Council to Tomasz Janiak, PhD, for the entirety of educational and research activities related to the history of the city of Gniezno and the beginnings of the Polish state.

2017

• A distinction in the category "Educational, promotional and marketing activities" in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2016", for the mobile exhibition "Baptism 966. At Poland’s source."
• A distinction in the "Scientific and publishing activity" category in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2016", for the publication "Religious architecture in the beginnings of the Polish state (X-XIII century)".
• "A Good Example 2017", title awarded by the Institute of Industrial Design for building the image of the Museum in a coherent, modern and consistent manner
• The title of the "Man of the Year 2016 of the Gniezno Poviat" in a competition organized by the Głos Wielkopolski newspaper, as part of the "Man of the Year 2016 in Greater Poland" competition awarded to the Museum’s Director, Michał Bogacki, PhD.
• "TRPADVISOR 2017 quality certificate" awarded by the tourist portal TripAdvisor, for the high quality of tourist services and recognition among its users.

2016

• 2nd place in the category "Educational, promotional and marketing activities" in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2015", for the outdoor exhibition "Trail of non-existent monuments".
• A distinction in the "Exhibition activity" category, in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2015", for the exhibition "Historical crafts in Poland".
• A distinction in the "Scientific and publishing activity" category, in the "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2015" competition, for the publication "The Yearbook of the Museum of the Beginnings of the Polish State in Gniezno. Part 1/2015".
• 2nd place in the "Great Treasures in Small Towns" ranking organized by the website Kulturyonline.pl.
• A spot in the "TOP 5 tourist hits of the Greater Poland Voivodeship", an online poll organized by the Polish Tourist Organization.
• Coronation Medal - distinction for the Museum’s Director, Michał Bogacki, PhD, awarded by the City Council of Gniezno for his contribution to the organization of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland.

2015

• A distinction in the category "Scientific and publishing activity" in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2014", for the publication "Medieval sacred architecture in Poland in the light of the latest research".

• 1st place in the "Mobile application - education" category, in the "Mobile Trends Awards 2013" competition, for the 3D mobile application "Inside the Fort of Gniezno".

• A nomination in the "Ethnographic and archaeological exhibitions" category, in the "33rd Competition for the Museum Event of the Year. Sybilla 2012 ", for the exhibition "Beginnings of the Polish State".
• A distinction in the "Educational, promotional, marketing activity" category, in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2012", for the educational website of the Museum: www.edukacja.mppp.pl.

• 1st prize in the category "Scientific, conservation and documentation of collections", in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2011", for the conservation of the medieval sculptures complex as part of the project "Protection of cultural heritage at the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State in Gniezno - Stage I".
• A nomination in the "Museum Collections" category, in "32nd Competition for the Museum Event of the Year. Sybilla 2011 ", for the conservation of the medieval sculptures as part of the project "Protection of the cultural heritage of the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State in Gniezno - Stage I".

• 1st prize in the "Exhibition activity" category, in the competition "Museum event of the year in Greater Poland. Izabella 2010", for the exhibition "The Capital of the Polish Church".
